Position description
GlobalSoft Solutions is an established provider of leading-edge solutions and consulting services to G2000 business and technology vendors. Growth in our Integration and Data Management practice has created a need for an experienced Data Consulting professional to join our San Jose-based team to provide product implementation services to clients and partners.
The Data Consultant will participate and/or be responsible for delivering medium to large-scale, complex programs that marry processes with technology to help clients achieve high performance. This role will manage projects delivering data-centric solutions to enterprise clients. Technologies will include MDM, Data Integration and Virtualization, and Complex Event Processing.
The role will serve as a key member of project teams through all phases of blueprint, realization, go-live, rollout, and post implementation support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Working with our partners and clients to implement complex data management applications such MDM, Data virtualization, and Complex Event Processing
2. Establishing and maintaining a trusted advisor relationship with our partners
3. Establishing yourself with our partners as a expert on their applications
4. Providing project leadership and direction to junior team members
5. Gathering functional and technical requirements as inputs into the overall solution design
6. Estimating and planning work for all phases of the software development lifecycle
7. Participating in process and functional design activities, carrying out application design, build, test, and deployment activities
8. Planning, developing, and executing data conversion routines
9. Driving user acceptance test planning and execution
Requirements & Qualifications
• BE/BTech/MCA degree or equivalent technical experience.
• Over 8 years of experience implementing enterprise class application such as MDM, CRM, and/or data access solutions such as; ETL or EAI
• Strong in skills in WebServices, Java, and XML
• Hands-on experience with installation/configuration and tuning of databases and applications servers (Weblogic, Websphere and/or JBoss)
• Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle 9.i or higher, and/or IBM DB2/UDB (experience with multiple database technologies is preferred).
• Should be capable as a database architect and data modeler
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
• Track record of accomplishment and effectiveness within organizations.
Preferred skills for this role include
Technical:
• Experience and/or familiarity with data analysis activities
• Significant project management experience in project delivery
• Experience with Windows or UNIX shell script programming
• Experience with optimization of high volume databases (>300GB) and large, distributed J2EE applications
• General understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL tools
• Experience with messaging software

Location
This role will be based in the US, but due to the level of travel required, there is flexibility as to location within the US.
