Solutions Consultant

Position description
This position is a member of our Consulting Services team, helping to deploy software on behalf of our partner software vendors. 

As an API Solutions Consultant, this person will work with the Apigee suite of products to create cloud-based access to software services using web services standards to provide a scalable solution delivering security, policy enforcement, and reporting. 

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

The position requires a person with a strong technical and customer interaction skills. The person will be involved in consulting roles for multiple customers’ deployment using the Apigee suite of products. The responsibilities will be similar to that of a senior solutions engineer or architect – someone who can work with both internal implementation and support teams as well as customers to troubleshoot, diagnosis, and remediate customer issues.

The candidate must have prior experience managing customer technical interaction on a consistent and full-time basis.

Key responsibility areas for this role are:

  • Configuration and deployment of customer solutions using the Apigee product suite,
  • Hands-on diagnostic and repair skills including network infrastructure, operating system level, and application specifically related to web services and associated technologies
  • Customer skills including handling issue discussions and real-time urgent status reporting to both technical and management resources

Secondary Duties/Respobsibilities

  • Co-ordination with vendor product management and engineering teams on product development teams on potential enhancements

Requirements & Qualifications

§  Bachelors or Masters degree – Computer Science graduates will be preferred

§  5 to 8 years

  • Ability to create client confidence in real-time technically demanding situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills of low-level technical details

Functional Competencies:

The candidate:

  • MUST have hands on experience with XML infrastructure (XML Schemas, XSLT, etc.), Web Services (SOAP, WSDL, REST, Security standards, etc.), system configuration such as LDAP or database, Java coding and configuration of various integration / messaging end points such as JMS and HTTP(S) interfaces
  • Should have product customization experience.
  • Experience in Web technologies such as Ruby on Rails, PHP, HTML and JavaScript is desirable.
  • Prior experience in the transaction processing middleware/integration domain is highly desired.§  Able to work in a dynamic environment; fast paced and frequently changing.
