Position description

GlobalSoft Solutions is an established provider of leading-edge solutions and consulting services to G2000 business and technology vendors.  Growth in our Enterprise Integration and Data Management practice has created a need for senior PowerCenter consulting professionals to join our Europe team to provide solution implementation services to clients and partners.

The Consultant will participate and/or be responsible for delivering medium to large-scale, complex projects that marry processes with technology to help clients achieve high performance.   An important aspect of the role will be to deliver training to clients on PowerCenter, and may include assistance with courseware development.  Consultant must be bilingual; English & German.

Consultant must be eager to learn new products and technologies and willing to present him/herself with confidence when undertaking new challenges.

Key Responsibilities

1. Working with our partners and clients to implement complex PowerCenter solutions as part of a team or on their own

2. Delivering PowerCenter training to clients in a classroom setting or remotely via web-enabled training sessions

3. Establishing and maintaining a trusted advisor relationship with our clients and partners

4. Establishing yourself with our partners as a expert on PowerCenter

5. Providing project leadership and direction to junior team members

6. Carrying out the role of Subject Matter Expert with regards to PowerCenter, and assisting team members with all things related to PowerCenter

7. Learning new products and technologies for which you will have similar responsibilities

Requirements & Qualifications
• BS/BE/BTech/MCA degree or equivalent technical experience.

• Over 8 years of experience with PowerCenter, with project experience using PowerCenter 8/9

• Expertise using the Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) toolkit - should understand the data analysis, data cleansing, data matching, exception handling, and reporting and monitoring capabilities of IDQ

• Must have proven and demonstrable client facing skills

• Excellent analysis, debugging and trouble-shooting skills, and persistence in problem solving

• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills

• Must be able to deliver training in both German and English

• Track record of accomplishment and effectiveness within organizations

• Must be able to demonstrate an ability to learn new technologies and products quickly

Preferred skills for this role include
Technical:
•  Experience in creating transformations and mappings using Informatica PowerCenter to move data from multiple sources into targets

• Experience in creating of transformations like Lookup, Joiner, Rank and Source Qualifier Transformations in the Informatica designer

•  Experience in performing the analysis, design, and programming of ETL processes for SQL Server, Netezza, Oracle, and Teradata

• Excellent knowledge and experience in creating source to target mappings, edit rules and validation, transformations, and business rules

•  Excellent analytical and logical programming skills with a good understanding at the conceptual level

•  Ability to code, test and optimize SQL and PL/SQL code including hints for query plan adjustment.

•  Experience in Administration duties is a plus

•  Ability to install, upgrade, configure, optimize, tune, and maintain PowerCenter instances on UNIX and Windows platform servers

•  Perform complex troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and solution development

•  Create and publish source to target mappings, transformations and data flow of the data warehouse environment. Experience with Windows or UNIX shell script programming
